Work Adjustment Training (ARS): Work Adjustment Training is a 60-day program which provides the setting to continue to assess the client's ability and begin the sometimes long process of building the client's work personality and increase their capacity to work. It involves the individual in a system of goal-directed services or groups of services directed toward enhancement of the individual's job seeking and job-retention skills that facilitate movement toward a satisfactory vocational placement. This service results from a recommendation after completing a 10 day Work Assessment which identifies work characteristics and answers referral questions posed by the ARS Counselor. Work Assessment is inclusive with the Work Adjustment Training allocated budget schedule.
Extended Services (ARS): Extended Services is training provided over an extended period of time for individuals who appear employable and are in need of continued adjustment services. It allows the time to build and often complete the process of getting the person ready for employment. Individualized plans utilize case management and adjustment services which are goal directed and which maximize the individual's vocational, educational personal and social functioning. The length of the program depends on the overall goal and related individualized plans but normally will be no longer than nine months or a total of twelve months from when the individual was admitted. Usually at the onset of this program the individual's average productivity is in the neighborhood of 40 to 75 %.
Supported Employment (ARS): Supported Employment is a specialized programmatic approach to provide placement and employment of persons with severe disabilities in the area of competitive employment. It involves the combination of job coaches/trainers and training at the employment site. Many behavior management skills and specific techniques assist in accomplishing this task. Intervention time is faded as job skills are learned, but follow-up and intervention is provided on a long term basis, as needed. The long term support is called maintenance and monitoring which provides appropriate on going services as needed. It is directed toward keeping persons served under Supported Employment on their jobs functioning in the community. It is deemed as long term supports with intervention only occurring when the need arises.
Pre-Vocational Adult Development (DDS): This adult development program is the same as the regular program, except the programming occurs in the
DDTCS Evaluation (DDS): This activity is completed at the initial entry of the individual into the DDTCS programs and annually thereafter. It is necessary to perform in order to substantiate the physicians’ prescription for needed services.
